Madhya Pradesh CM's Son Celebrates Wedding at Mass Ceremony
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's son, Abhimanyu Yadav, recently participated in a mass wedding ceremony in Ujjain. The event, held on Saturday, saw Abhimanyu and his bride, along with 21 other couples, united in marriage.
A Grand Affair Focused on Inclusivity
The wedding was held at a large venue featuring five ceremonial domes, a 40x100-foot stage, and 22 individual pavilions. Approximately 25,000 guests attended the ceremony.
Chief Minister Yadav emphasized the event's focus on inclusion and social harmony: "Our beloved son, Dr Abhimanyu, and fortunate daughter-in-law, Dr Ishita, along with 21 newlywed couples, were united in holy matrimony in a grand collective wedding ceremony...all of you showered the newlywed couples with your priceless blessings, love, and best wishes."
Ramdev Praises CM's Initiative
Yoga guru Ramdev officiated the Vedic wedding rituals for all the couples. He lauded Yadav as "the first Chief Minister to present such an example," suggesting that it could inspire other influential families to reconsider lavish wedding spending.
Social Harmony and Cultural Pride
A senior BJP leader noted that the Yadav family transformed what could have been a private event into a powerful statement on social harmony and cultural pride.
Notable Attendees and Traditional Touches
The mass wedding was attended by several prominent figures, including:
- Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot
- Union ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia and Durgadas Uike
- Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar
- Senior ministers from the Cabinet and several ruling party MLAs
Abhimanyu and Ishita made a memorable entrance at one of the pre-wedding ceremonies, arriving in a bullock cart, a tribute to the Malwa region's rural heritage. Other grooms rode horses, while brides traveled in decorated carriages during the collective procession.
Promoting Social Harmony
During the event, CM Mohan Yadav also listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann ki Baat’ address. Governor Mangubhai Patel commended the Chief Minister for "demonstrating social harmony in practice."
