Globoplay

Globo launched Globoplay on 3 November 2015 as a digital platform developed for its programmes and audiences. Early use was closely connected with catching up on Globo television, but the service expanded into a broader subscription product. It began producing and co-producing Globoplay Originals in 2018 and licensed international series alongside Brazilian work. Later changes brought more Globo pay-TV channels and radio or podcast material into the product. Globoplay also expanded outside Brazil, offering selected Brazilian content to viewers in North America and parts of Europe. This international access does not mean every Brazilian channel, live event or title is available abroad. The platform's development reflects Globo's wider role in Brazilian television and film production. It can use a deep archive while commissioning online-first work. Older articles may describe fewer services than the current application, but plan and bundle details should always be checked locally.

Telenovelas are one of Globoplay's clearest strengths. The library can include current Globo serials, older productions, miniseries and programmes that have become part of Brazilian popular culture. Drama, comedy, reality television, documentaries, children's programmes, journalism and licensed international series broaden the catalogue. Globoplay Originals provide series and films created for the platform, while supported plans can include live Globo channels, sport and news. Some content is available free with an account and advertising; other programmes require a subscription or channel bundle. Live rights can vary by city, country and event. International subscribers may receive a curated catalogue rather than the full Brazilian service.
