Synopsis
Five hundred years in the future, a renegade crew aboard a small spacecraft tries to survive as they travel the unknown parts of the galaxy and evade warring factions as well as authority agents out to get them.

Begin with the feature-length pilot Serenity, which introduces the ship, crew and arrival of passengers Simon, River and Shepherd Book. Continue with The Train Job, Bushwhacked, Shindig, Safe, Our Mrs Reynolds, Jaynestown, Out of Gas, Ariel, War Stories, Trash, The Message, Heart of Gold and Objects in Space. This is the intended home-release order. The original U.S. broadcast began with The Train Job and moved other episodes, making relationships and ship geography harder to understand. Some listings count the pilot as one or two episodes, so totals may appear as 14 episodes or 15 instalments. After the complete series, watch the 2005 film Serenity, which advances the Alliance and River story and gives several arcs stronger resolution.
