Tragic Loss: MBBS Graduate Dies in Hyderabad Over Pet Cat Dispute

A heartbreaking incident has occurred in Alwal, Hyderabad, where a 23-year-old MBBS graduate reportedly died by suicide. The young woman's death is believed to be linked to a disagreement with her family regarding keeping a pet cat at home. This latest news has brought attention to family dynamics and personal choices in the region.

Identity and Background of the Deceased

The deceased has been identified by Alwal police as T. Princy, also known as Sreshta, from Risala Bazar. Princy had recently achieved her medical degree (MBBS) and was actively preparing for her postgraduate studies, indicating a promising future. Her sudden passing has shocked the community.

The Core Disagreement: A Pet Cat

According to Alwal Sub-Inspector N. Devender, Princy had recently brought a cat into their home. This decision, however, led to frequent and intense arguments with her family members. The family reportedly opposed having the pet, citing concerns about allergies its presence might cause. This ongoing family disagreement created significant distress for Princy, leading to her extreme step.

The Unfortunate Incident Unfolds

On Friday afternoon, while her family was out for personal errands, Princy was found unresponsive. Her parents attempted to contact her to check if she had eaten lunch. When she did not answer their calls, they asked neighbors to check on her. Tragically, the neighbors discovered her hanging from a ceiling fan in her flat's hall, confirming the worst fears.

Police Investigation and Official Statement

Emergency services, including the police and 108 ambulance staff, were immediately alerted. Ambulance personnel confirmed her death at the scene. Police officials stated that the family's complaint indicated Princy was deeply upset about not being allowed to keep the cat, leading to her taking her own life. No suicide note was found at the location, adding to the mystery surrounding her final moments.

"We have registered a case under Section 194 (suspicious death) of the BNSS," stated the Sub-Inspector. Following an autopsy conducted at Gandhi Hospital, Princy's body was released to her family for final rites. The Alwal police investigation continues into this tragic Hyderabad suicide, aiming to understand the full circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.
