Shocking Incident: Man Kicks Pregnant Woman During Celebration, Faces Arrest

In a disturbing incident from Andhra Pradesh, police in the Sri Sathya Sai district have taken a man into custody following an alleged assault on a pregnant woman. The shocking event reportedly occurred during a celebration for former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy's birthday, which escalated into a violent confrontation.

Details of the Assault Case

The incident unfolded on Tuesday in Muthyalavari Palli, a village within the Tanakallu mandal. Authorities identified the accused as Pushpala Ajay Deva, aged 25. According to official reports, Ajay and his family were setting off firecrackers outside their residence to mark the former CM's birthday, an activity that caused considerable noise and disturbance to their neighbours.

The victim, 29-year-old P Sandhya Rani, who is six months pregnant, approached the celebrating family. She reportedly asked them to reduce the noise and move their festivities to another location to avoid disturbing others. This request, however, led to a heated argument with Ajay Deva.

During the altercation, Ajay allegedly physically attacked Ms. Rani. Police state that he grabbed her by the neck and then brutally kicked her in the stomach, causing her injury.

Swift Police Action and Public Warning

Following Ms. Rani's complaint, the local police swiftly registered a case against Ajay Deva. He was promptly arrested and, in a move aimed at deterrence, was paraded through the streets as a warning to others contemplating similar acts.

Kadiri DSP Siva Narayana Swamy addressed the media, emphasizing the police department's firm stance on such crimes. He stated that offenses targeting women and children are treated with the utmost seriousness and that strict legal action will always be pursued against perpetrators.
